Simulation of one-dimensional dam-break flood routing based on HEC-RAS

Dam-break is a serious disaster resulting in severe damage to downstream communities. Therefore, analyzing the affected range and evolution process of dam-break floods advance valuable. However, difficulties challenges lie complexity breaking earth-rock dams, uncertainty floods, geographical variability. Given this, objective this study analyze characteristics flood evolution. The chooses Chengbi River Reservoir as research object, HEC-RAS simulation software, unsteady flow differential equations one-dimensional Saint-Venant control equations, it uses four-point implicit finite difference method for discrete solution. In paper, simulated under three boundary conditions (full breach, 1/2 1/3 breach), main results are follows. From dam site section Tianzhou hy-drological station section, peak discharge decay rates schemes 78%, 77%, 67%, respectively. water level 47%, 36%, 30%, A 1 m increase bursting elevation increases by ap-proximately 7%, highest front m, delays time 1.5 h on average. addition, preliminary inundation extent Baise City obtained. analysis can provide fundamental basis well reference management.
